One person has been taken to hospital with moderate injuries following a two car crash this morning in North Canterbury.

Emergency services were called the scene of the crash on Tram Road near Jeffs Drain Road just after 7AM

A eyewitness, first on the scene, said one of the driver’s was doing 40 km and swerving all over the place and crossed the centre line into an oncoming vehicle.”

A St John Ambulance spokesman said one patient was taking to Christchurch Hospital in a moderate condition.

Police, Fire and Emergency crews also attended the crash.
