Emergency services are at the scene of a two vehicle crash in Aranui.

They were called to the intersection of Wainoni and Breezes Road at 2PM.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said they responded with one ambulance and one rapid response unit.

One person was treated and transported to Christchurch hospital in a serious condition.

Another person has been taken to hospital in a minor condition.

Chris Lynch Media understands a medical event may have contributed to the crash.

Both roads remain open.
