A car that failed to stop for police has crashed into traffic lights in the Christchurch suburb of Bryndwr.
A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch staff attempted to pull a vehicle over after it was seen driving erratically around Queen Elizabeth II Dr around midday.
“The vehicle failed to stop and no pursuit was initiated.”
The police spokeswoman said shortly after, the vehicle has come to a stop near the corner of Greers Road and Wairakei Road, after it drove into traffic lights.
An eyewitness said a police car tried to cut the offending vehicle off – and rammed it into a pole.
Police are speaking with the three occupants that were in the vehicle.
No one was injured.
