Fireworks being let off at a house on Blenheim Road sparked an armed police response this morning.

A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch Media police received a report just after 8am that some loud bangs had been heard from a residential property.

The caller thought it was gunshots.

The police spokeswoman said it turned out to be fireworks which had been let off at the back of the house.
