Police and fire investigators are at the scene of a suspicious house fire on Riccarton Road.

Fire and Emergency shift manager Lynn Crossan told Chris Lynch Media crews were called to the blaze at 5.55am on Friday.

Crews from Ilam and Wigram stations attended. When the first fire appliance arrived, the house was well ablaze.

All of the occupants made it out of the property safely.

The fire was extinguished by 6.15am.

It is being treated as suspicious, and a fireinvestigator along with police are examining the scene.
