Addington Rugby League Football Club is preparing for a major club day at Spreydon Domain on Saturday.

The event will be held on Saturday 27 June 2026, with organisers promoting it as a day celebrating the club’s heritage, whānau and the rise of the Magpies.

The club describes itself as a proud, community driven organisation built on whānau, passion and development.

It provides a fun, inclusive and supportive environment where players of all ages and abilities can grow their skills, confidence and love for the game.

Club President Aidan Thompson said the club day will include team kai stall fundraisers, free activities for whānau, club raffle hampers, barista coffee on site and free Hells Pizza from 12pm, while stocks last.

Organisers said $1 from every cup of coffee sold would be donated back to the club.

A slogan and banner design competition will also be held for young supporters, with categories for children aged eight and under, and children aged 9 to 12.

The winning design from each category will feature on an official Addington Magpies mug, with winners receiving their own mug.

Commemorative mugs will also be available for whānau and the wider community to buy.

The club said it was focused on creating positive experiences both on and off the field, from its youngest juniors through to senior players.

It said its commitment was not only to developing great athletes, but strong and respectful individuals who represent their community with pride.

New players, families, volunteers and supporters are being encouraged to be part of the club’s journey.

Supporters are being encouraged to wear their Addington merchandise to club day.

Those attending can also take a photo at the Addington Magpies gazebo to go into the draw to win a spot prize.

The club is promoting the event with the message, “play with pride, support with passion, stand together.”
