More than 1200 properties are without power across parts of Christchurch tonight.

Orion’s outage map shows 1295 properties without electricity across St Albans, Papanui and surrounding streets.

The outages are listed under three incident references, affecting 506, 713 and 76 properties.

No properties had been restored at the time of publication.

Orion has listed the estimated restoration time for all three as 10.45pm tonight.

The outage comes on a freezing night in Christchurch, with the temperature sitting at just 2 degrees.
