Searches are ongoing today for a woman missing in Christchurch, as concerns grow for her welfare.
Valerie Hargrave, 81, was last seen at her home address in Woolston, in the St John Street area, on Thursday evening.
She is around 167cm tall, of small build.

Detective Senior Sergeant Colin Baillie says concerns for her are growing.
“Given the time that has passed since confirmed sighting of Valerie, her family and Police are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare,” he says.
“Police Search and Rescue are continuing work today to find Valerie, assisted by volunteers from LandSAR.”
Detective Senior Sergeant Baillie says it is not believed Valerie has travelled very far from the Woolston area.
He says the public can help searchers by checking their own properties.

“We’d ask the public to help us by checking in and around your properties, particularly in Woolston and the areas immediately surrounding.”
Detective Senior Sergeant Baillie says there will be an increased Police presence in the Woolston area as officers make enquiries.
Police continue to assess information as it comes in from the public, and remain in contact with Valerie’s family.
If you see anything that may help us in the search for Valerie, please contact Police via 105, referencing file number 260606/1699.
