A man has been arrested in the Christchurch suburb of Mairehau following a drive by shooting earlier in the day in the central city.
Detective Sergeant Donny Aitken told chrislynchmedia.com police were called to an Armagh Street address about 9.30am on Saturday after a resident reported shots had been fired at the house around 45 minutes earlier.
Two occupants of the house were shaken but were not injured. A vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting was seen leaving the address.
Detective Sergeant Aitken said police later located the vehicle suspected of being involved. Footage sent to chrislynchmedia.com shows police activity on Lincoln Road earlier in the investigation.
Later this afternoon a man allegedly linked to the vehicle was arrested at an address on Carvan Place in Mairehau.
