Train barrier arms are down across at least three major Christchurch crossings causing long delays for motorists.
The arms are down on Langdons Road, Northcote Road and Sawyers Arms Road.
KiwiRail control centre is aware of the issue and contractors are investigating.
A motorist told Chris Lynch she’s been waiting in her car for over 20 minutes at one crossing.
Another driver said a small car was sitting on the tracks near Langdons Road.
