Two people have been seriously injured following a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle in Linwood this afternoon.

Emergency services were initially called to the scene just before 4pm.

A St John spokeswoman said they were notified of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Hargood Street in Bromley, Christchurch.

Two ambulances, one rapid response unit, and one operations manager attended the incident.

Ambulance crews treated two patients in a serious condition and transported them to Christchurch Hospital.

Hargood Street was still closed to motorists near Linwood Avenue at 6PM, while the westbound lane of Linwood Avenue remained open.
