Police have released the name of the man who died after being struck by a train on Lincoln Road in Addington.
The victim was 30-year-old French national Maxime Antoine Vandenbosch, who was living in Christchurch at the time of his death.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Friday, 23 January, where Mr Vandenbosch was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said their thoughts are with Mr Vandenbosch’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
