Jetstar has launched its annual Christmas “Jetsmas Sale”, releasing 45,000 discounted one-way fares across its domestic and international network, including multiple routes to and from Christchurch.

Domestic fares start from $48, with Christchurch travellers able to pick up flights to Wellington from $52 and to Hamilton from $53.

International deals include Christchurch to Cairns from $199, alongside discounted trans-Tasman and Pacific routes.

Jetstar’s Head of New Zealand Shelley Musk said the sale comes as the airline prepares for its busiest summer period on record, with almost 700,000 customers expected to fly to and from New Zealand over December and January.

“We’re gearing up for our biggest Christmas and New Year peak ever,” Musk said. “The Jetsmas Sale is about giving Kiwis more opportunities to travel for less during a very busy season.”

She said 2025 had been a major year for Jetstar in New Zealand, with the launch of five new domestic and trans-Tasman routes, including the Christchurch to Cairns service, expanding affordable travel options for South Island passengers.

The sale includes a wide range of domestic fares such as Auckland to Christchurch from $59, Wellington to Queenstown from $53, and Auckland to Queenstown from $72. International fares start from $142 for Hamilton to Sydney, with other routes priced under $200.

Club Jetstar members receive early access from midday today, with the sale opening to the public from midnight. Fares are available until 11.59pm on Sunday 21 December, unless sold out earlier, with travel dates varying by route from early 2026 through to late winter.
