Youth offenders have robbed a Heathcote store at gunpoint tonight.

A police spokesperson confirmed to chrislynchmedia.com police were responding to a report of a robbery at a commercial address on Port Hills Road at around 7:20pm.

A number of items were taken and the offenders left the scene in a vehicle the police spokesperson said.

Chris Lynch Media understands the car used was stolen.

The police spokesperson said the report suggested one person was in possession of an item that appeared to be a firearm.

Nobody was injured and police were making enquiries to locate those involved.

It follows three other aggravated robberies in Christchurch this morning as first reported by chrislynchmedia.com.

A worker was injured after youth offenders walked into a dairy on Somerfield Street and attacked a staff member.

The robbery was captured on CCTV.

One offender hit the shop owner in the head with a tool, causing minor injuries.

A similar incident then occurred at the Challenge service station on Blighs Road, and again at a dairy on Clyde Road.

A commercial helicopter was hired by police to help track the offenders, who dumped their stolen car in Kaiapoi.

In a statement, Canterbury Metro Area Commander Superintendent Lane Todd said two youths were arrested in relation to this morning’s incidents and would appear in the Christchurch Youth Court facing three aggravated robbery charges.

Superintendent Todd said one of the youths also faces two breach of bail charges.

It’s understood the young female captured in the video was not arrested yet.

Several items of property have been recovered and enquiries are ongoing to determine any connection with a spate of youth offending last week.
