Christchurch has lost one of its most creative and beloved figures.

Donnelly passed away on October 13 at Nurse Maude Care Home.

Tribute to Peter from Wayne Allan Webb
For 17 years, his intricate designs drawn into the sand at low tide captivated locals and visitors, turning the beach into an ever-changing art gallery.
Fellow artist Wayne Allan Webb said Peter’s death is hard to comprehend. “I miss my mentor and friend.”
