Staff at Christchurch’s Arion Farm Education Park have been left heartbroken after thieves broke into the farm, cutting through fences, opening cages, and causing extensive damage.
Arion Farm Education Park Manager Pedro Alexis Pezoa Oliva said the intruders struck overnight, stealing three of their much-loved rabbits, Frank Flemish, Tiny Tim Netherland Dwarf, and Harry.

“Last night, someone broke into the farm park, cutting through fences, opening cages, and causing a lot of damage along the way. Worst of all, three of our very special bunnies were stolen,” Pezoa Oliva said.
“These bunnies are not just animals. They are loved by our staff, our visitors, and especially the children who come here to spend time with them. We are absolutely heartbroken.”
He told chrislynchmedia.com the offenders cut through five fences to get to the bunnies.

He appealed directly to those responsible, asking them to return the animals safely.
“If you are the person who took them, we are asking from the bottom of our hearts: bring our bunnies back. No questions asked. We just want them home safe,” he said.
Arion Farm Education Park is a popular destination for families and school groups, offering educational experiences with farm animals and hands-on learning about rural life.
