Emergency crews at Avonside house fire

A person has suffered moderate injures in a house fire in Avonside.

Fire and Emergency shift manager Alex Norris told chrislynchmedia.com crews were called to the Holland Street property at 2.50pm.

Two crews from ANZAC station and one from Christchurch City station attended.

The house was already well involved when they arrived Norris said.

Everyone was accounted for, and a fire investigator has been at the scene this afternoon.

A St John spokesperson said they responded with an ambulance and a first response unit.

“One patient, in moderate condition, is being transported to Christchurch Hospital.”

Norris said crews remained at the property at 4.30pm.

A police spokesman said they were called to the scene to manage traffic.
