Police have been carrying out a pre-planned operation in Linwood this morning, prompting a large visible presence in the neighbourhood.
The operation took place on Pamela Street, off Buckleys Road in Linwood.

A large mobile police unit van was also stationed on the street, with the road being blocked off by police on Buckleys Road.
Residents also reported a large police presence on Buckleys Road.

A police spokesman told chrislynchmedia.com the incident related to a pre-planned police operation.
“Cordons were put in place, and some staff were armed as a precaution.”
Residents reported seeing officers in the area just before 7AM.

At 10.10AM the police spokesman said the operation was on going.
