More than 300 Canterbury properties lost power this morning after a truck collided with a power pole.

In a statement to Chris Lynch Media, St John said they were notified of a motor vehicle incident on Main South Road, Dunsandel, at 07:08am today.

One first response unit and one ambulance responded.

One patient, in a moderate condition, was transported to Christchurch Hospital.

Electricity provider Orion reported the outage around 7am, affecting 314 properties between Rakaia and Dunsandel.

Nearly all properties have had power restored, with the last remaining houses expected to have power by 2pm.
