Two houses are alight in Lyttelton, according to Fire and Emergency New Zealand.
A Fenz shift manager said they were called to the properties just after 5pm Friday with two houses “well alight” with a nearby house very close to being included.
The shift manager said that police have evacuated the area.
Seven fire crews from Lyttelton and Christchurch were in attendance, as well as a water tanker and command unit at the Brittan Terrace properties.
