A large police presence was seen in Hornby this morning as officers carried out a search warrant at a residential property.

Police were called to an address on Amyes Road, near Shands Road, prompting part of the road to be blocked off.

Residents said they saw at least a dozen police vehicles in the area, including armed officers.

A resident told chrislynchmedia.com said the local doctors was placed into lockdown.

“The police escorted my mum to the doctor then she had to wait an hour to be allowed to leave.”

A police spokesperson confirmed the activity was related to the execution of a search warrant, but no further information was available at this stage.
