A man has been arrested following a police raid in Ferrymead.

Armed police surrounded a property on the corner of Ferry road and Settlers Crescent just before 4PM.

Police officers were seen entering the property from the front and rear, while another officer was seen on top of the roof.

A police spokesman said a man with a warrant to arrest was taken into custody after police located him at an address off Ferry Road.

The 35-year-old man is due to appear in the Christchurch District Court in due course.
