A car has crashed into the window of Robert Harris Cafe at the Palms Shopping centre.

The crash happened at 10.45AM.

A police spokeswoman said one person was being assessed by ambulance.

They’ve been transported to Christchurch hospital with moderate injuries.

Fire appliances, St John Ambulance and police were at the scene.

The police spokeswoman said there were no reports of traffic delays on Marshland Road.

The cafe has been closed for the rest of the day.
