Two youths have been arrested following a burglary at Woolworths supermarket in New Brighton.
As first reported by chrislynchmedia.com, police were called to the Hawke Street premises about 5am on Sunday after the burglary.
A police spokeswoman confirmed to chrislynchmedia.com, police were aware of the youth offenders’ videos circulating on social media.
They used a stolen car and it was located abandoned at the corner of Beresford Street and Marine Parade early on Monday morning, the police spokeswoman said.
It’s understood the vehicle was stolen from the Cashmere Club on Saturday night.
Two youths appeared in the Christchurch Youth Court today, charged with burglary, the spokeswoman said.
On Sunday, a Woolworths spokesperson the store was closed in the morning due to an overnight break-in.
