An adventurous initiative will see more families visit Darfield during the July school holidays.

The Darfield Primary School PTA has created a Hunt for the Brick People which they hope will encourage people to explore the town of Darfield.

A PTA spokesperson said they hoped the initiative would also “support local businesses along the way, as well as providing families with an activity over one or multiple days of the winter holidays”.

The PTA has signed up 47 places around the Darfield township to display a wooden “brick person” in their windows or on their fences, each with a brick-themed word attached for participants to complete a word puzzle and go in the draw to win a prize.

The Darfield Brick Play Day is the PTA’s first ever Kidsfest event and it is being run in conjunction with the school’s House of Bricks at the end of the holidays.

The July school holiday Darfield brick events are part of the promotional lead-up to The Darfield Bricktacular 2024 on Saturday 31st August, 10am-4pm.
