Multiple shops have been broken into at the Church Corner Shopping Mall this morning.

Police received reports of a burglary at the shopping centre on Riccarton Road in Upper Riccarton around 10:15am.

A witness told Chris Lynch Media the Chinatown premises on Church Corner had several shops which were smashed up.

Police say the burglary occurred between the hours of 8:30pm last night, and 9am this morning. 

Money and retail items were stolen from the shops. 

A Police spokesperson said enquiries into the burglary are ongoing.
