The Mobil Service Station in Aranui has been robbed tonight.

A police spokeswoman said at 9:15pm police were called and advised of a robbery on the corner of Pages and Breezes Road.

She said two people had reportedly entered the store and were armed with a weapon, but it was not a firearm.

The police spokeswoman said it was unclear what had been taken, but the offenders left on foot.

Police are in the area making active inquiries to locate them.

Police have not released any description of the offenders.

The service station has been closed.
