Sad news for the local community as Pukeko Junction Cafe and Deli in Leithfield has announced it’s closing down.

Cafe owner Anjali Bist shared the news with customers and supporters saying that the cafe’s last day of operation will be on Sunday.

The decision to close the cafe was due to various reasons, including the building’s need for earthquake repairs, rising inflation, cautious spending, increased wages, and rent.

Bist expressed gratitude for the support from the community over the years, saying many people will be saddened by the cafe’s closure.

On a Facebook post the cafe said “as a closing sale, Pukeko Junction Cafe and Deli was offering some of its popular items, including different flavours of tea in bags of 100 tea bags, flavoured coffee, and milkshake syrups.

The closure of Pukeko Junction Cafe and Deli marks the end of an era for the local community.

However, the cafe’s team was looking forward to the new chapter awaiting them, and they hope that the community will continue to support them in their future endeavors.

The Pukeko Junction family expressed their gratitude again for the years of support and service and bid farewell to the community as they close the doors to their beloved shop.
