Christchurch police are hunting a man who robbed a service station in Aranui last night.

A police spokeswoman said at 9:15pm, police were called and advised of a robbery at the Mobil Service Station on the Corner of Breezes Road and Pages Road.

She said a man entered the store, armed with a knife.

Cash was handed over to the offender. He left on foot prior to police arriving at the scene.

Police are making active inquiries to locate the offender.
