A person has been rushed to hospital following a “water related” incident at QEII Recreation and Sport Centre.

A police spokesperson said police assisted emergency services with the water-related incident on Travis Road in New Brighton at 4.15PM.

One person was transported to hospital in a critical condition the spokeperson said.

A council spokesperson confirmed the incident, but was unable to comment further.

Members of the public said they saw police cars, a fire and emergency truck, and several St John ambulances stationed outside the facilities.
