A person is in a serious condition after falling off a scooter in central Christchurch this afternoon.
The accident happened on Hereford Street outside the Christchurch Transitional Cathedral.
A St John Ambulance spokesman told Chris Lynch the organisation was notified of the incident at 2.59PM.
A police officer who was first on the scene provided first aid to the badly injured person who was being treated on the road island.
An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene.
One patient has been taken to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.
