Multiple vehicles have been damaged after a car accident in central Christchurch this morning.
A police spokesperson said there was a report of a vehicle hitting a row of parked cars on the one-way section of Durham St North between Beveridge St and Salisbury St, at about 5am.
“The road was blocked while the scene was cleared by emergency services, but is now free-flowing.”
A witness told Chris Lynch Media there was an ambulance on the scene and debris strewn everywhere.
“It looked like two vehicles had a significant frontal impact, so it seems likely the driver was going the wrong way.
“I couldn’t see anyone who looked to be seriously injured. “
A St John spokesperson said two ambulances responded to the scene.
“Two patients were treated and transported to Christchurch Hospital – one was in a moderate condition, and one was in a minor condition.”
