Multiple fire and emergency crews are at the scene of a house fire in Merivale.

Fire and Emergency Shift Manager Lynn Crosson told Chris Lynch they received multiple calls to the blaze at a two-story house on Carlton Mill Road just after 8pm.

She said two fire appliances from the Christchurch Central Station were called.

However, because of the number of calls from the public, crews from Ilam and Spreydon are also in attendance.

A crew from the Anzac Fire Station has also been called.

Lynn Crosson said all people have been accounted for and fire crews are still putting out the blaze.
