A man has been seriously injured in a workplace accident in the Christchurch suburb of Wainoni.

A police spokeswoman said they were advised of the work-related incident at 1AM on Sunday.

A man suffered a serious injury to his hand and arm.

“We were only requested to attend in terms of victim support and the matter has was notified to WorkSafe” the spokeswoman said.

A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said they assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Christchurch hospital in a serious condition.
