Large crowds have gathered at the Bridge of Remembrance in Christchurch.
The protest, supported by Te Pāti Māori, was a show of opposition to the new government, which has promised changes to Treaty relations and co-governance.
Co-organsier of the Christchurch march, Teresa Bulter said the protest was about protecting Mokopuna.
“Tonight is about peace and love, but also to show this new Government that we are Māori are not going to sit back and let them walk all over us.”
