Hornby resident Marc Duff has received a Community Service Award from the Waipuna Community Board for Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton.
The award recognises Duff’s significant contributions to the Hornby community over the past few years.
The Greater Hornby Residents Association said, “We can’t think of a more deserving recipient; Marc has dedicated so much of his spare time to making Hornby a better place to live, and helping form the GHRA and building it up to what it is today.”
Duff was the chair of the association for five years, and was instrumental in the running a popular Hornby community Facebook page.
He was also a strong and consistent voice in the community, advocating for a swimming complex.
The special award for event was held at 126 On The Corner – Hei Hei Broomfield Community Development Trust, celebrating Duff’s achievements.
The award was presented by Hornby Ward Councillor Mark Peters and Waipuna Community Board Chairperson Maire Pollisco.
Other attendees included Hornby Ward Community Board members Henk Buunk and Sarah Brunton, Halswell Councillor Andrei Moore, and Riccarton Ward Community Board member Helen Broughton.
