Firefighters have managed to subdue a fire that broke out at an automotive shop in Christchurch.
One person received a minor injury because of the fire.
Emergency services were forced to evacuate people from buildings on Buchan Street in Sydenham around 11:40am on Thursday.
Authorities closed off nearby roads.
Local residents and people nearby were warned to heed instructions from emergency personnel and to stay at least 100 meters away from the location of the fire.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blaze.
