Fire and Emergency crews remain at the scene of a large house fire in Riccarton.

Emergency crews were called to the abandoned two story house on Kirkwood Avenue just before 9PM.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said multiple crews from all Christchurch city stations were at the scene.

No one was inside the house, Clyde Road near Riccarton Road has been blocked off by police.
“We advise all members of the public to keep away to allow the firefighters to work safely.
People should stay out of the smoke. Any properties in the vicinity of this area should keep all windows and doors closed.”
