Swap donations for tram tickets this month in Christchurch Attractions’ Christmas Appeal.

For the fifth consecutive year Christchurch Attractions is supporting the Christchurch City Mission bringing festive cheer to those in need this holiday season.

In return for donations of needed goods to the value of $25, Christchurch Attractions will provide the donor with a complimentary $35 adult Christchurch Tram ticket to explore the many highlights of the city centre.

Up to three children aged 15 years and under can accompany an adult ticketholder on the Christchurch Tram free of charge.

Christchurch Attractions CEO Sue Sullivan said, “We know that the holiday season can be a difficult time for many households struggling to provide for their whānau, and that foodbanks are seeing increasing need year-on-year.”

“We’re proud to be supporting the Christchurch City Mission and their work in our local community as they ensure that households in need receive assistance over the festive season,” Sullivan said.

Donations can include perishable and nonperishable goods such as ham, chicken, pasta, pavlova, canned food, cereal, chocolate, biscuits and chips. Toiletries including  shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, socks and underwear would also be appreciated by the team.

The Christmas Tram along with Santa’s helpers will be parked in Cathedral Square at Tram Stop #2 on Wednesday 20 December from 10am until 3pm to collect items for the  Christchurch City Mission’s foodbank and exchange these for a Christchurch Tram ticket.
