Emergency services are at the scene of a serious incident at Wharenui Swimming Pool & Sports Centre.

A police spokesperson said Christchurch Police are attending a water incident involving one person at a pool in Riccarton.

Emergency services were alerted about 8.25am to Elizabeth Street.

It’s understood a person has suffered a medical incident.

“At this time, we are unable to provide further details” the police spokesman said.

The pool has been closed to the public while emergency services remain at the scene.
