The Christchurch City Council has decided to close the Bus Interchange tonight after it was found to be a location of interest.

The Ministry of Health advised the council that it wouldn’t be necessary.

However, as a precaution though, they will close the interchange to carry out a deep clean from 8pm tonight (Friday 29 October).

All routes that normally stop at the Bus Interchange will be diverted to the Manchester Street super stop.

The interchange will reopen as normal tomorrow morning (Saturday 30 October).

Staff will be at the Bus Interchange to provide information during the closure.

If you were at the Bus Interchange on Wednesday 20 October (last week) between 2.15 & 2.45pm, the Ministry of Health is advising you self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for two weeks after this time.
Testing sites in Christchurch can be found on the Health Point website. Please use alternative means of travel if you need to get a test.
