Aggravated robbery at popular restaurant in Halswell

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at Armadillos restaurant in Halswell.

A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch police responded to reports of an aggravated robbery at a commercial address in Halswell at 11.20am yesterday.

One person stole cash from the premises and fled the scene.

Initial reports indicate the offender may have been armed.

No description of the offender was provided to Chris Lynch Media.

On the restaurant’s Facebook page a post was made on Saturday.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to close and will be reopening, as usual, tomorrow from 11am. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.”

Police are continuing to make inquiries.
