A man has been arrested in Papanui following a police pursuit this morning.

A police spokeswoman said a police car pulled in front of a car that had earlier failed to stop for police.

The incident happened on Main North Road opposite Northlands Shopping Centre at 10AM.

The alleged offending vehicle was on the pavement. A police vehicle was stationed behind it.

The back of offending car was damaged.

Minutes later a man, police have said was connected to the incident, was arrested on Papanui Road near St Andrew’s College.

Charges are yet to be laid.
