Fire crews dealing with multiple weather related incidents across Christchurch


Fire and Emergency crews are dealing with multiple weather related incidents across Christchurch tonight.

They were called Hereford Street just after 8.15PM, after a fence fell on top of a vehicle with a person inside.

They were uninjured.

At 7.30PM crews were called to Flemington Ave in North New Brighton after a skylight was blown into a property because of strong winds.

A tree smashed into a house on Stapletons Road in Richmond, and powerlines were down on Penguin Street in Southshore.

Powerlines were also down on several streets in Aranui.

A hedge fire was threatening a property in Southbridge in Selwyn.

Nearly 200 customers in Mt Pleasant were without power.

Power was also cut to residents in Broadfield, Halswell, Ladbrooks, Lincoln, Otahuna, Tai Tapu.
