REVEALED: An eye opening report has laid bare how governments have managed New Zealand top ten challenges.

The report by KPI.nz produced the list using data from three research companies that regularly poll and publish the issues that matter most: IPSOS, Curia, and Essential.

Data on the top ten issues was sourced from Stats NZ, the Reserve Bank, Treasury, NZ Police, Te Whatu Ora/Health New Zealand, and the Ministries of Social Development, Education, and the Environment.

It shows under Labour victimisations of crime has sky-rocketed and school attendance has plummeted.

Aggravated retail robberies doubled in the year to December 2022.

Government confidence is at record lows.

The report shows that many New Zealanders believe the country is going in the wrong direction.

New Zealand’s current account balance as a percentage of GDP is now the worst in the OECD, worse than it was during the GFC.

Although this is not measured consistently, three different polls from 1News Verian, NZ Herald Dynata, and The Guardian Essential suggest social cohesion is a significant and rising challenge for the country.

Unsurprising, the report shows CPI Annual Inflation has risen well above RBNZ targets.

Under Labour, child immunisation rates have plummeted.

Kiwi Performance Indicators co-creator Geoff Neal said “we hear political parties bicker all the time about who does it better, so I felt it was time to create some objective measures that allow Kiwis to make their own informed judgments based on hard data, not biased debate.”

The top 10 issues revealed by KPI.nz are as follows:

  1. Cost of Living is unanimously the #1 concern in the country right now.

  2. Economy

  3. Healthcare

  4. Crime

  5. Housing

  6. Taxes

  7. Poverty

  8. Environment

  9. Education
