A man has died after the ute he was in crashed into a paddock in Yaldhurst last night.

Emergency services were called to Yaldhurst Road at about 9.30 PM.

A police spokesperson said two vehicles were involved in the crash near Russley Rd.

The ute rolled into a paddock landing on its side.

A nearby resident said he heard a loud screech, and ran out to have a look.

The area was not well-lit, so he used his car lights to shine on the crash site to help emergency services.

β€œThe scene was devastating. The ute was badly damaged.”

Another motorist told the resident the vehicle flew past her car, on its side before stopping in the paddock.

Fire and Emergency crews were first on the scene and managed to cut the person out of the ute.

The eastbound lane was blocked while emergency services attended the scene.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
