Car stolen allegedly at knifepoint in Burnside

An alleged carjacking incident has occurred in Christchurch's Burnside area, involving a vehicle being taken at knifepoint.

A police spokesman said they received a report of a man acting threateningly at a residential address on Greers Road at 7:18PM

β€œIt appears a vehicle has then been stolen and crashed into another vehicle.”

No one was injuried.

Chris Lynch Media understands the offender was carrying a knife at the time the car was stolen.

The police spokesman said a person has been taken into custody.

Enquires were ongoing to determine the circumstances.
