18-year-old woman charged following alleged stabbing of teen girl

An 18-year-old woman has appeared in court following the alleged stabbing of a 16 year old girl.

The girl was allegedly stabbed after getting off a bus in Broomfield on Monday.

She was admitted to Christchurch hospital in a moderate condition.

Her mother said her daughter tried to flag down cars but no one stopped to help her.

She said she lost a lot of blood following the attack, but was doing ok.

A police spokeswoman said the alleged offender, an 18 year old female, appeared in Christchurch District Court on Tuesday, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She is due to reappear in court on 20 december.
